Community at work. The coworkers are kind for the most part and customers aren't the worst for the most part.

I wish I better negotiated my starting pay. Also the call out system is weird.

It's a good starting job but it's hard to change jobs since not many others pay as well.

The management can be sticklers about certain things, but the peers are great.
Advice
Customer service employees are more open to taking shifts, so if possible choose one of those positions over a grocery position if you have a busy schedule.

Publix should of approach covid differently with the new rules for example we had to wipe down carts for a certain amount of hours which did nothing at all of preventing anything.

the management is wonderful and the people you work with are like family! They are also really good at working with your school schedule! they have plenty of benefits open to employees as well.

I wish I was able to dye my hair personally, and that they didn't care about piercings.

What I liked
I was 16 when I first started my job, and I was very shy. Working at Publix, I was constantly having to talk to customer, so it really helped me open up. I met lots of people, and I really enjoyed learning about the humans around me.
What I wish was different
I wish certain individuals in management had more respect when speaking to us and treated us more like people.

If it's not helping you to grow, then move to better things.
