What I liked

I enjoy a flexible schedule that works with my school hours. I took summer classes and also attended a conference in Washington DC that was paid for by Kennesaw State. My job is flexible and allowed me to work while also being able to take off the time needed to go to this conference. The starting wages weren't too bad either.

What I wish was different

For the most part the only issues I had tended to be with management. At times I feel undervalued for my services and the effort I put in to my job.

Advice

If you work a job like Publix and know you don't want to make it a career, that's okay. My only advice about that is to make sure you leave on good terms and benefit from working their then you need to keep positive and remember every you do in life should be done with a purpose.

There are advancement opportunities for dedicated workers. Full time comes with good benefits. Hour long breaks.

Turn over rate is very high. A more stable crew would be nice.

Very much a customer is always right kind of job. Certain departments are much more demanding than others.

Definitely worth it! Public employees are entitled to Publix stock, something other people can't get!

What I liked

I enjoy building relationships with the patients who regularly stop by the pharmacy to pick up their prescriptions. I also enjoy learning how to fill prescriptions and new ways I am able to help the patients.

What I wish was different

I wish there was a new hire with me when I first started. I felt like I was far behind everyone else that had been working there for a while. The pharmacy staff is willing to teach you, however, and will be patient with you while you learn on the job.

Advice

Do not be too hard on yourself when you first start this job! There is a lot to learn and it will come with time. Some of the pharmacy technicians who have worked there for a while still have questions when it comes to certain tasks.
