Impact Campaigns Internship

The Florida Wildlife Corridor is a statewide network of connected lands and waters that supports wildlife and people. Nearly half of the 18-million-acre corridor is still in need of permanent protection. Using a science-based approach, on-the-ground knowledge of the Corridor, and the support of tens-of-thousands of followers throughout the state and nation, the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation works to identify and elevate the most pressing threats and opportunities facing the Corridor. We cultivate awareness and action through film, photography, painting, drawing, mapping, storytelling, and expeditions. 

Impact Campaigns Interns will learn about and support activities that accelerate Corridor conservation within urgent and vulnerable focus areas. Interns have the opportunity to learn more about state policies affecting the Corridor and the current issues that impede progress. They will gain experience working with local organizations, conservation and political leaders through our mural campaign, film screenings, traveling exhibits and installation, and community events.   

The Impact Campaign Intern will be expected to work 20 hours per week, or the required course specified hours to obtain credit through a combination of in-person and remote hours.  

Responsibilities 

• Work with the Impact Campaigns team to support Corridor mural activities, expedition film launch, volunteer program, and expedition planning. 
• Assist with outreach to conservation partners, as well as local, regional, and state stakeholders for conservation workshop planning and engagement  
• Support Impact Campaigns, conservation, and outreach events, including data collection and reporting. This will require travel around the state for events. 
• Support Film Tour logistics. Helping plan and execute screening events for our newest expedition film.  
• Conduct various administrative duties such as ambassador event tables, managing emails, and responding to general inquiries. 

Qualifications 

• Good communication skills oral and written 
• Basic knowledge or interest in conservation, environmental issues, public policy, advocacy and community building 
• Comfortable working with different communities  
• Willing to travel (mileage and travel-related expenses reimbursed) 
• Reliable vehicle and driver's license. 
• Experience with Microsoft Office 
• Undergraduate 3rd/4th year/Graduate Student
