REMOTE Sound Designer Internship
Sports Media, Inc. is seeking a creative and technically skilled Sound Designer Intern to help shape the auditory experience across our suite of educational games, sports simulators, esports leagues, and training platforms. From the hum of a flight simulator to the electric tension of an esports match — you’ll bring our digital worlds to life through immersive soundscapes.
This is a hands-on opportunity to design, edit, and implement audio that enhances gameplay, storytelling, simulation realism, and brand engagement. You’ll collaborate closely with game developers, engineers, video editors, and writers to build experiences that both inform and entertain.

What You’ll Learn & Do:
- Design & Implement Audio: Create original sound effects (SFX), ambient loops, UI sounds, and signature audio cues for gameplay and simulations.
- Work with Voice & Music: Collaborate with voiceover talent and compose or source background music that fits gameplay themes and moods.
- Simulate Real Environments: Develop realistic sound profiles for projects like CDL training, EVOC driving, framing, and sports gameplay.
- Integrate Sound into Engines: Learn how to implement audio into game engines such as Unity or Unreal using middleware like FMOD or Wwise.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work alongside artists, animators, and developers to sync sound with movement, visuals, and transitions.
- Support Marketing & Video Teams: Contribute to trailers, TikToks, podcasts, YouTube content, and promotional spots with engaging sound design.

- Field Recording & Foley Production
- Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Workflow

✅ Requirements:
- Available to attend meetings on Mondays (9:00 AM), Wednesdays (10:00 AM), and Fridays (8:00 AM MST)
- SkillBridge participants must also attend Thursdays at 9:00 AM MST
- Pursuing or completed coursework in Audio Engineering, Game Development, Music Production, or a related field
- Familiarity with DAWs, sound libraries, and audio editing tools
- Interest in sports media, training simulation, or esports
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative
- Bonus: Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity audio pipelines
