Communications and Events Intern
BestPrep is hiring a part-time paid Communications and Events Intern for the 2025-2026 school year. Tasks include writing and scheduling social media posts, compiling/editing and sending newsletters, making website edits, updating flyers, assisting with various fundraising event tasks, photography, newsletters and more. Time will be dedicated to learning about the organization’s other programs and their impact on students.
Perfect for a college student who are interested in journalism, marketing, English, creative writing, communications, design, event planning, education, or non-profit development.
Time commitment: approximately 15-20 hours a week.
Internship stipend: Total stipend of $6,000 ($3,000 per semester) to be paid by direct deposit on a bi-monthly basis.
Work mode: Hybrid; remote and on-site work; in-person hours occur M-F between 7:30am – 5pm.
Location: Includes remote work, scheduled in-office hours (Brooklyn Park), periodic in-person meetings and event attendance.

Qualifications:
• Good writing, editing, and interviewing skills
• Good understanding of social media
• Must pay attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Work well on your own: be self-sufficient and proactive
• Confident in email communication skills and responsiveness
• Fast learner
• Proficient computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Work well under deadlines and have good time-management skills
Not required but preferred:
• Experience with Canva, WordPress, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Photoshop, InDesign, Salesforce, Outlook
• Experience with digital design, website editing, social media strategy, and/or photography
• Volunteer experience with non-profit or charity
• Understanding of BestPrep; have attended Minnesota Business Venture or utilized BestPrep programs in school
