About the Role

Games For Love is seeking passionate and creative Audio Artist Interns to join our Game Development Internship Program. As an Audio Artist, you’ll play a critical role in bringing our games to life by designing and implementing sound effects, ambient audio, and music that elevate the player’s emotional experience.

You will collaborate with game designers, programmers, and artists to craft immersive soundscapes that complement gameplay mechanics and narrative beats.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and production teams to understand the vision and tone of the game.
• Design, create, and edit high-quality sound effects (SFX) for characters, environments, UI, and gameplay interactions.
• Work on ambient sounds and background audio to match level design and gameplay pacing.
• Assist in selecting or composing original music tracks that reflect the game’s theme and mood.
• Implement audio using game engines like Unity or Unreal (with guidance and training).
• Maintain and organize audio asset libraries.
• Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on game experience and audio integration.
• Take direction and revisions professionally and deliver on time.

🔧 

Required Skills & Experience

• A passion for game development and sound design.
• Basic experience using audio production tools such as Audacity, Reaper, FL Studio, Ableton, Logic Pro, or Pro Tools.
• Understanding of game audio principles and interactive audio design.
• Willingness to learn implementation techniques using Unity or Wwise/FMODO (training provided).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A growth mindset and ability to accept and apply constructive feedback.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with voice-over editing or audio post-production.
• Familiarity with middleware tools (Wwise, FMOD).
• A small portfolio or examples of personal or student projects showcasing audio work.
