College Intern - Business Builders

Paid Internship Opportunity: Business Builders Summer Camp

Position: College Intern – Business & Finance Focus
Department: City of Providence Recreation Department
Location: Elmwood Community Center, 75 Atlantic Ave, Providence, RI 02909
Compensation: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 8-10 weeks 

 

About the Program:

The Business Builders Summer Camp is a free, 5-week entrepreneur camp for youth (age 13), hosted by the City of Providence Recreation Department in partnership with local organizations. This innovative camp teaches students the foundations of business, brand and logo design, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

 

Internship Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated college students majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Business to join our summer team as paid interns. Interns will assist with delivering an engaging curriculum, mentoring youth participants, and supporting daily camp operations.

Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of daily business and financial literacy lessons

Help facilitate activities including logo design, business planning, and 3D printing projects

Mentor and guide students through developing their own mini-business ideas

Assist with daily setup and wrap-up (30 minutes before and after camp hours)

Collaborate with camp staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive environment

 

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a college program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field

Passionate about youth development, community work, and entrepreneurship

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Previous experience working with youth is a plus but not required

Must be reliable and able to commit to the full 8–10 week program
