Audio Visual/Media Teacher
Burleson High School is seeking an innovative and motivated Audio Visual/Media Teacher to lead and inspire students in video production. This role will prepare students for careers in digital media, film, communications, and technology while contributing to the school’s digital and promotional efforts. Lead students in creating high-impact visual content that promotes our school’s programs, athletic events, and fine arts achievements. Also includes media production and content creation. This position combines teaching and mentorship with hands-on content creation for internal and public-facing platforms. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, creativity, and a passion for real-world learning to help build a dynamic and engaging digital presence for the school.
Key Responsibilities for Teaching and Leading Students Groups:
Media Production & Instruction:
Teach students the fundamentals of video production, editing, graphic design, and digital and visual storytelling.
Guide students through real-world media projects including event coverage, social media content, and digital campaigns.
Provide training in industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Content Creation & Program Development:
Develop and manage a student-led media production program and competition teams for SkillsUSA.
Coordinate the production of weekly or monthly content including school news, athlete/fine arts features, behind-the-scenes segments, and promotional videos.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to tell compelling stories about school life, achievements, and community impact.
Work with the Sports Marketing teacher on campus for joint projects.
Event & Program Coverage:
Capture video and photo content from school events including:
Athletics (film live content, "Friday" night football game live coverage & score board video board management during each home game at BISD stadium)
Fine Arts (concerts, plays, exhibitions, artist features)
Career and Technical Education Programs (shows, competitions, projects)
Digital Presence & Social Media Management:
Manage or contribute to the school’s social media channels with engaging, timely content.
Develop creative strategies to boost school spirit, promote events, and engage with the broader community online.
Maintain a content calendar aligned with school priorities and major events.
School Promotion & Branding:
Create content that highlights student success, faculty excellence, and the unique aspects of school programs.
Collaborate with the administration and communications team to align content with school branding and messaging.
Support admissions, athletics, and fine arts departments with digital campaigns and promotional materials.
