We support students from Grade 9 to Grade 12, guiding them through profile building and university selection, all the way to the application submission!


About the Role

We are looking for a Film Coach to support an upcoming art school applicant in preparing a film-focused creative portfolio. This includes mentorship in story development, screenplay writing, short film planning, and portfolio refinement. The goal is to help the student produce a compelling submission that meets international creative standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in film or television production, particularly in coaching or mentoring emerging filmmakers. Experience with U.S. or international creative education programs (e.g., IB Film, BFA/BA in Film) is a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor the applicant through story ideation, scriptwriting, and visual storytelling.
  2. Guide the development of a short film and creative writing samples.
  3. Support creative essay content creation related to the applicant’s portfolio or personal narrative.
  4. Provide input on overall portfolio presentation and project development.
  5. Assist in reviewing and refining the applicant’s resume for creative school applications.
  6. Offer feedback and basic production planning support.

 

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or senior-level university student from a U.S. institution, with a background in film, screenwriting, or film education (professional experience preferred).
  2. Experience mentoring or coaching students or emerging filmmakers.
  3. Strong understanding of creative portfolio requirements for arts programs.
  4. Familiarity with U.S.-based or international film school standards is a plus.
  5. Flexible and available for remote work.
