Broadway On The Side is looking for a dedicated, organized, and enthusiastic Stage Manager to join our team for Disney’s Newsies. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on a high-energy, large-cast musical and gain hands-on experience in every phase of production. Perfect for early-career stage managers or those looking to expand their leadership and organizational experience in a supportive, creative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the central point of communication between the director, cast, crew, and production team
  • Attend and manage rehearsals, tech week, and performances
  • Maintain an organized rehearsal schedule, daily calls, and detailed production notes
  • Create and update blocking and calling scripts, and cue the show during tech and performances
  • Assist in coordinating scene changes, props, and backstage logistics
  • Keep track of attendance, notes, and show reports
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and efficient rehearsal and performance environment

 

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Experience stage managing or assistant stage managing (educational, community, or professional)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Calm under pressure and confident in managing large groups
  • Comfortable with calling cues and managing backstage flow
  • Familiarity with theatrical terms, blocking notation, and cue calling (training provided as needed)
