The Jewish Women’s Archive (JWA) is a global organization devoted to collecting and promoting Jewish women’s* stories and voices, to ensure a more accurate historical narrative and a more inclusive future. Founded in 1996 as an innovative online archive, JWA has become the world’s largest source of information on Jewish women and has built a wide range of online and public programs that provide education and insight and spark conversation and change.
*JWA embraces expansive understandings of Jewishness and gender. We include Jews from all backgrounds and those who are non-binary, genderqueer, or gender-questioning.
Position Summary
Supervised by the Director of Programs, the Manager of the Rising Voices Fellowship’s primary responsibility (90% time) is managing and growing the Rising Voices Fellowship (RVF) and its alumnae network. Founded in 2013, RVF is a ten-month program for young Jewish women and nonbinary individuals in 10th-12th grades who have a passion for writing and a strong interest in feminism, Judaism, and social justice. Other responsibilities (10% time) include collaborating with the JWA team to develop and implement additional JWA programs, such as Story Aperture, adult learning, educator engagement, book club, and podcast.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee fellowship recruitment efforts and manage application process
- Serve as a mentor, editor, and point of contact for fellows
- Develop, refine, implement, and evaluate program curriculum, in partnership with Director of Programs
- Facilitate monthly webinars and two in-person retreats and coordinate guest speakers
- Coordinate retreat logistics, including travel, room and board, and programming
- Support and help grow RVF alumnae network
- Communicate with parents/guardians through periodic newsletter

- Commitment to social justice & racial equity: You recognize the role of race, gender, and other factors in shaping identities and experiences; you are driven to improve conditions and proactively learn about race, equity, and identity.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent coursework/life experience
- Knowledge of gender/women’s studies, Jewish studies, history, and/or education
- Experience with group facilitation and education
- Experience with and passion for working with teens
- Excellent writing skills and editing experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities with equanimity
- Commitment to mission of the Jewish Women's Archive
- Positive attitude and sense of humor
- Position requires some evening and occasional weekend work hours
The salary for this position is $52,000-$57,000, commensurate with experience. This full-time position is eligible for a generous benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability, paid parental leave, 403(b) contribution, FSA, and QTA, paid federal and Jewish holidays, professional development funding, and hybrid work model.
