ILYouth2 Internship

This internship is an opportunity to work directly with the ILY2/ILYouth2 leadership team as we enter the second year of our youth arts program. The internship will largely consist of program support tasks and supporting our summer instructors and campers; but there is also the opportunity to develop a special project for ILYouth2 that explicitly aligns with the intern’s own professional goals, if desired (could be related to programming, the youth gallery/shop, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with studio management (organizing, setting up for camp, cleanup, acquiring materials, etc).
  • Assist instructors with programming as directed (may include working directly with campers, ages ~8-11).
  • Assist with marketing/outreach (printing and putting up fliers, researching potential partners and compiling contact information, tabling at events, etc).
  • Option to develop a special project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have consistent and reliable transportation; a valid driver’s license and access to a car is ideal.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check (due to interactions with children).
  • ILY2 & ILYouth2 are a small team, pitching in together on tasks large and small - so we are looking for a team player who doesn’t mind organizing, putting up fliers, or a quick errand!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate and interested in the arts, youth development, and larger creative arena; and is eager to learn.
  • Previous experience in arts education is not required.

About ILYouth2:

ILYouth2 (or ILYouth2, “I Love Youth Too”) is a youth arts program by Portland art gallery ILY2 (“I Love You Too”), that fosters creative thinkers and makers through small-group camps, in a 1500+ square foot studio in the Lloyd Center Mall.

Additional Info:

  • This is an unpaid internship with a stipend. We're happy to work with the right candidate and their school to make any necessary adjustments to ensure school credit can be given.
  • ILY2 LLC is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are committed to building a culturally diverse staff and strongly encourage all qualified professionals to apply.
