Position Overview

We are seeking an ambitious Publicist Intern to help establish our founder as a leading voice in PMDD education and women's hormonal health. This role offers hands-on experience in public relations, media outreach, and strategic partnership development within the specialized healthcare sector.

Primary Responsibilities

Media Relations & Outreach

  • Research and identify relevant health and wellness podcasts, radio shows, and TV segments
  • Draft personalized pitch emails for podcast guest appearances and media interviews
  • Secure speaking opportunities at conferences, summits, and professional events in women's health
  • Pitch feature stories to health magazines, wellness websites, and professional publications
  • Manage comprehensive outreach spreadsheets and follow-up communications

Partnership Development

  • Research and identify women's health organizations and advocacy groups for potential partnerships
  • Draft partnership proposals and collaboration pitches
  • Facilitate introductions and maintain relationship databases
  • Connect our founder with influential figures in women's health and mental wellness

Strategic Communications

  • Develop compelling story angles highlighting PMDD expertise and impact
  • Create media kits, speaker one-sheets, and professional materials
  • Research industry trends and identify timely media opportunities
  • Monitor relevant news cycles for expert commentary opportunities

Event & Speaking Coordination

  • Research conferences, summits, and events seeking PMDD/women's health speakers
  • Submit speaker applications and manage approval processes
  • Track speaking opportunitiesĀ 

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with podcast hosts, journalists, and event organizers
  • Follow up on pitches and manage ongoing communications
  • Nurture long-term media relationships for future opportunities
  • Create systems for tracking media contacts and interaction history

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in public relations, communications, journalism, or marketing
  • Strong interest in women's health advocacy and mental health awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with research, outreach, and relationship building
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with cold outreach
  • Familiarity with media landscape and podcast industry preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare/wellness marketing regulations is a plus
