Prerequisites:
- Must be 18 years old & have a valid drivers license with no restrictions.
- Know how to drive and back up a 15-passenger van and trailer safely. You will demonstrate this in 1/2 of the interview process.
- CPR certification or Wilderness 1st Responder recommended.
This is simply an outline of the general tasks expected of the Resort Operations Staff. This is just a partial list in order of importance as new tasks come up on a daily basis.
Tasks:
- Driver of van & kayak trailer to deliver kayaks and customers to destinations.
- Lifting kayaks up to 50 pounds several times per day.
- Performing Safety talk to customers going on the river, taking money & coupons for rentals, having customers read and sign the Risk Release Liability Waiver.
- Keep vehicle, boats, and paddling gear clean. i.e. vacuuming carpet, wiping down interior of vehicles, wiping/washing kayaks and paddling gear, & airing out gear.
- Answer phone, take reservations, and answer customer questions.
- Keep lodge & outfitter grounds up, i.e. trail maintenance to river, trimming, mowing, & raking, painting, staining, etc.
- Tending to walk-in’s in the Outfitter and Fly Shop.
- Administrative assisting with emails data entry, social media, etc.
- Check-in’s & out’s for lodge, vacation cottage/b&b.
- Serving continental or full breakfast to b&b customers.
- Cleaning lodge vacation cottage/b&b.
- Hosting day groups.
- Teach basic kayak course.
- Tend to the care of the Foster dogs.
- Other tasks will be asked of you on as they arise.
Hours: Generally 9:00-5:00 give or take depending on reservations.
EVERY Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Holiday REQUIRED. This IS Tourism!
ALL holiday weekends required, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends.
Most mid-week days as weather permits.
Days off 1-2 days per week Monday through Thursday.
Other days will be worked out as the season weather develops.
Season: Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Additional hours may be obtained in the extended part of the season which is April-October as varies with weather.
Training: The week leading up to and/or Memorial Day Weekend.
