Assistant Producer
Assistant Producer — Walking Cinema (Bay Area)
Walking Cinema is an experiential media studio creating immersive, site-based storytelling experiences in collaboration with museums, universities, and media outlets. Our projects weave together investigative research, narrative journalism, and interactive media to tell community-centered stories about urban history, social justice, and the humanities.
We are currently hiring a Bay Area based Assistant Producer for a site-based audio and augmented reality production on the history of public housing, to work an average of 20 hours/week with the possibility of going full-time. The project is currently entering a marketing/distribution phase, so applicants looking for that kind of experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Manage client and partner communications: Schedule meetings, respond promptly to emails, take detailed meeting notes, and maintain organized filing systems for all project documents and correspondence, under the supervision of the Producer and, at times, the Director.
Coordinate marketing and outreach logistics: Support the distribution of marketing materials by liaising with printers, installation vendors, and project partners. Track outreach timelines, deliverables, and audience engagement data to help evaluate and improve campaign effectiveness.
Oversee digital asset management: Keep digital assets organized and updated within Walking Cinema’s online storage systems, ensuring media files, documents, and project materials are easy to locate and properly archived for multiple collaborators.
Prepare and edit company documents: Assist in drafting, formatting, and proofreading documents such as website updates, educational materials, and production reports to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Support social media scheduling and maintenance: Post pre-approved content and help monitor Walking Cinema’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, ensuring timely updates and basic audience engagement tracking.
Provide operational and production support: Remain proactive in assisting with general business operations, including organizing production schedules, vendor coordination, expense tracking, and other administrative duties as needed.
