Dispatcher / Human Resources Coordinator

Position Summary

The Dispatcher / Human Resources Coordinator is a hybrid role essential to our company’s stability and growth. This person will lead courier recruitment and onboarding while managing daily dispatch duties. You will be responsible for building a bench of reliable contract couriers and ensuring excellent client service through effective order coverage and communication.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys solving logistical puzzles, and has a genuine passion for people and service.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch Operations

  • Manage incoming delivery orders and assign them to the appropriate drivers.
  • Monitor active deliveries and provide real-time support to drivers and clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to confirm pickups, drop-offs, and delivery expectations.
  • Anticipate coverage needs and proactively manage courier resources to prevent service gaps.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide seamless dispatch operations across shifts and territories.

Human Resources & Recruitment

  • Lead the recruitment of independent contract couriers with a focus on reliability, professionalism, and service attitude.
  • Develop job postings, source candidates, conduct interviews, and onboard new drivers.
  • Maintain updated records of driver credentials, insurance, and performance.
  • Build and manage a flexible labor pool to ensure order coverage in all regions.
  • Handle performance issues and offboarding in a consistent and respectful manner.

Client Service & Internal Collaboration

  • Serve as a point of accountability for service reliability and order coverage.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, operations, and the driver team to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Assist in defining and refining service protocols to improve response times and delivery success rates.
  • Work closely with leadership to align HR practices with business needs and client expectations.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, HR coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong people skills with a balance of empathy and accountability.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking ability, especially under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment documentation.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and adapt to dispatch and HR platforms.
  • Experience in courier or medical logistics a plus.
