Summer/Fall Onsite Human Resources Intern

AMSC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment while supporting a wide range of HR functions.

As an HR Intern at AMSC, you will play a key role in supporting recruitment efforts, maintaining employee records, coordinating interviews, updating organizational charts, administering employee recognition programs, and more. You'll also have the opportunity to work closely with staffing agencies, participate in orientation and onboarding processes, and assist in critical HR audits and compliance tasks.

We're looking for someone who is currently pursuing a bachelor or master's degree, with a strong eye for detail, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for working with people. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity is a must.

Functions:

  • Maintain employee files and recruiting files.
  • Provides full support and coordination of the recruitment function including sourcing, scheduling, making interview arrangements, and handling all related activities.
  • Maintain employee requisitions.
  • Responsible for leading temporary recruitment efforts including sourcing, scheduling, interviewing, coordination with staffing agencies, etc. 
  • Create and update New Hire Orientation books and interview packets.
  • Maintains global organizational charts.
  • Review weekly timecards and resolve timecard exceptions.
  • Administer employee recognition programs. 
  • Answering, screening, and forwarding incoming phone calls.
  • Receiving and signing in visitors appropriately.
  • Stocking and filling coffee and snack areas daily. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct pre-screenings as required. (to include background and drug screenings)
  • Assist with audit requests.

Education - Experience:

  • Pursing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree.

 

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

  • Must be accurate, detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Able to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly effective communication skills including interpersonal written and verbal communications.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Ayer, MA.
