Local Journalism Intern – Leander Scoop & Round Rock Scoop

Leander Scoop and Round Rock Scoop are two of the fastest-growing local media brands in Central Texas, with over 20,000+ subscribers across our newsletters. We keep residents in the North Austin suburbs informed and connected with curated news, local stories, and things to do. We're looking for a journalism intern to help us write articles, craft social content, and share great local info with our audience.

What You’ll Do:
– Write newsletter content and full-length web articles
– Attend local events or government meetings (occasionally)
– Create engaging posts for Instagram and Facebook
– Help us discover and share great local stories

Who You Are:
– A strong writer and communicator (journalism, comms, or English major a plus)
– Curious about local news, people, and businesses
– Comfortable with deadlines and self-directed work
– Bonus: Photography, Canva, or video editing skills
