Title: Strategic Communications & Digital Engagement Intern

Location: Lincoln, NE

Summary: This internship offers a learning experience to support the Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors (NALHD) in advancing strategic communications across Nebraska’s Local Health Departments (LHDs), serving all 93 counties. The intern will work on high-impact communications infrastructure projects that will help LHDs grow their reach, amplify local influence, and better connect with the communities they serve. Ideal for students interested in communications, digital engagement, design, or public-interest strategy — no specific major required. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences. 

What You'll Do:

·      Support the organization and maintenance of a shared digital image and video library for use by public health professionals across Nebraska

·      Assist in organizing and optimizing Canva/Adobe brand kits for campaign consistency

·      Develop a shared statewide media & influencer list to help LHDs grow their local impact

·      Build basic platform guides to help LHDs begin using Instagram and LinkedIn with confidence
