Community Development Department Intern

Are you passionate about urban planning and community development? Do you enjoy conducting research and analyzing data to support strategic initiatives that make a tangible impact? The City of Johns Creek is currently seeking a dedicated Community Development Department Intern to join our team and contribute to meaningful projects shaping the future of our city.

Ideal Candidates Will Be Pursuing or holding degrees in:

  • Urban Planning
  • Geography
  • Public Administration

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis involving census tract data, demographic trends, and local market data.
  • Assist in the development and review of planning and zoning proposals.
  • Support the preparation of community planning documents, maps, and reports.
  • Collaborate with staff on public engagement and community outreach efforts.
  • Present findings and data-driven insights to department staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience collecting and analyzing U.S. Census data and local market trends
  • Understanding of urban planning principles, zoning regulations, and community development strategies
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly, both in writing and verbally

Note: This seasonal position will end on September 30, 2025, and is not eligible for benefits.
