Information Technology Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT intern to join our team. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with databases and application development. The ideal candidates will be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and will have a solid understanding of SQL. Experience with Microsoft Access databases is a strong plus. Knowledge of building applications of web applications is also highly desirable. The intern will report directly to the onsite Project Managment Specialist. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in writing, testing, and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures as relates to our current ERP system
  • Support the maintenance and management of internal databases (MS Access)
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
  • Assist with the migration, cleanup, or documentation of data as needed
  • Contribute to the development or enhancement of internal tools, apps or web-based
  • Work on minor database and application development project solutions alongside our external IT Consultants
  • Collaborate with team members on various technology initiatives
  • Document processes and create support materials for end users or internal teams

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server (writing queries, joins, aggregations, etc) is required
  • Experience working with Micrsoft Access is a plus
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and data integrity
  • Exposure to our experience in building desktop. mobile, or web applications is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
  • Understanding of data normalization and database design
  • Basic knowledge of Excel VBA, scripting languages, or front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS. JavaScript)
