Location: Batesville, IN, 47006-Hybrid role
Duration:12 Months Assignment (Possible extension)
Shift: M-F, 8 AM 5 PM
Position Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) programs to gain hands-on experience supporting the development of medical devices.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize new product features, enhance user interface designs, and support product labeling initiatives. You'll gain real-world exposure to multiple phases of the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and R&D teams to support ideation and concept development.
- Assist with UI/UX design efforts, including visuals, wireframes, mockups, and labeling assets.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and translate customer needs into intuitive design concepts.
- Prepare presentation materials such as slides, images, and interactive demos.
- Work with the Global Design team to prioritize tasks and meet project goals.
- Apply HCI principles and design thinking methods to support development initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's program in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)-related field.
- Strong creative and visualization skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
- Familiarity with user-centered design and usability concepts.
Preferred Skills & Software Proficiency:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) – Advanced proficiency preferred
- Figma – Strong plus
- Adobe XD – Plus
- KeyShot, Strata 3D CX – Basic knowledge is a plus
- 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge) – Familiarity is a plus
- Microsoft Office – Preferred (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Comfortable working in both Mac and PC environments
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong sketching and illustration skills are a plus
- Exposure to user testing or usability engineering methods is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Reliable personal transportation is required for onsite work
Work Environment:
- Hybrid model with at least 3 onsite days per week in the Batesville, IN office
- Some flexibility in work hours depending on project needs
