Marketing and Social Media Intern

Our growth has been driven largely by thought-leadership—now we’re ready to amplify that voice, and we’re looking for a creative, data-minded Marketing Intern to lead the charge on social media.

Position Summary

Under the guidance of our Managing Attorney, you will plan, create, and manage multi-platform social-media content that educates and engages prospective clients and referral partners. This is a paid internship ($15/hour, 2-5 hours per week) starting Summer 2025 with the potential to extend or convert to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities (subject to adjustment based on firm priorities)

• Generate at least 20 posts per month across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Business Profile. For example, one post will be posted on each of the above-mentioned platforms and counts as 1 post.
• Research legal/financial trends & competitor activity to pitch timely topics 
• Draft hooks, captions, titles, and hashtags aligned with brand voice

• Script, film, and edit short-form and long-form videos (on-site filming 1–2× per month) 
• Deliver polished assets optimized for each platform

• Build and maintain a rolling content calendar 
• Schedule posts, monitor comments, and engage with followers in a professional tone

• Track KPIs (views, engagement, click-throughs) 
• Present a monthly performance report with actionable recommendations

• Maintain clear asset files and usage rights 
• Ensure all content meets State Bar advertising rules and firm confidentiality protocols

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: Current junior/senior pursuing a bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Film, Journalism, or related field. Recent grads also welcome.
  • Technical skills: Comfort with Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut, Canva or Adobe CC, basic DSLR/phone-camera operation, Office 365; familiarity with social schedulers (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite) a plus.
  • Storytelling instinct: Ability to translate complex legal topics into accessible, compelling narratives.
  • Data mindset: Experience interpreting social-media analytics to inform creative decisions.
  • Professionalism: Strong written/verbal communication; punctual; able to work discreetly with privileged information.
  • Logistics: Reliable transportation to Livonia for scheduled filming days; personal laptop or editing rig preferred.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Hourly Rate: $15.00 (non-exempt; bi-weekly pay)
  • Schedule: 2-5 hours/week. Core hours between 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET; flexible remote editing.
  • Duration: May – August 2025 (flexible start), with option to renew.
