Startup Grants & Funding Intern
Job Description:
Are you passionate about startups, innovation, and funding strategy? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented intern to support our early-stage startup in identifying and applying for non-dilutive funding opportunities (e.g., grants, competitions, accelerator stipends). This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the founder and gain hands-on experience in startup fundraising strategy, government and private grant systems, and the product development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:
Research and compile a comprehensive list of relevant non-dilutive funding opportunities, including federal, state, local, university, and private grant programs
Assess eligibility criteria, deadlines, and application requirements
Draft application materials and prepare required documentation (with support from the founder)
Track deadlines and manage a funding opportunity calendar
Reach out to grant program contacts or past recipients for insights when needed
Summarize findings and recommendations clearly and concisely
Contribute to shaping the company’s funding strategy
You Might Be a Fit If You:
Are a strong researcher who loves digging through resources and spotting opportunities
Have excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
Are highly organized and can manage multiple moving pieces
Are curious about startups, consumer electronics, AR, or cycling (a plus!)
Are self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
Bonus If You Have:
Experience with grant writing, fellowships, or research proposals
Interest or coursework in business, entrepreneurship, public policy, or a technical field
Familiarity with SBIR/STTR, NSF, or DOE grant programs (not required but helpful)
Details:
Part-time (10–15 hours/week), remote
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)
