Spring Freelance Writer Description
DOGOnews's rapidly growing platform is seeking a skilled freelance contributor to join our content production team. The position would run as long as agreed upon with the editorial staff. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students of all grade levels. The position provides students with an opportunity to work with an experienced editorial team to report on groundbreaking current events of their interest.
Responsibilities
— Ideate and propose innovative themes and stories to the Editor-in-Chief
— Research and evaluate news stories and sources
— Develop and write academic current events articles
— Work closely with editorial staff and Editor-in-Chief
Ideal Candidate
— Working towards B.A. in English, Media Studies, Communications, History, Journalism or related fields
— Passionate about writing
— Strong interest in education and edtech
— Strong communication skills, written and verbal
— Strong research skills
— Ability to meet deadlines
— Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
— Prior journalism or editorial-focused work/internship experience is a huge plus
