Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Child Advocate Intern to join our team. This role supports our mission to ensure the safety and well-being of children by providing supervision, administrative support, and community outreach. The intern will gain hands-on experience in child advocacy, data management, and public speaking while making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Children: Monitor and engage with children at the center, ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
- Data Entry: Accurately input and update data into computer systems, maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Organization: Assist in organizing files, schedules, and materials to support center operations and activities.
- Community Outreach: Accompany staff to deliver Monique Burr Foundation presentations at local schools, promoting child safety and abuse prevention.
Job Standards:
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information about children and families.
- Ensure punctuality and reliability in attending scheduled shifts and school presentations.
- Adhere to center policies, safety protocols, and child protection guidelines at all times.
- Complete data entry tasks with 100% accuracy and within designated timelines.
- Actively engage with children in a positive, respectful, and inclusive manner to foster a safe environment.

- Empathy and Communication: Ability to connect with children and communicate effectively with diverse groups, including staff, families, and school audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in data entry and organizational tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
