Hospitality/Food & Beverage Summer Internship

Overlake Golf & Country Club (OGCC) was originally established in 1927 on this beautiful site in the hidden neighborhood of Medina, Washington. Overlake Golf & Country Club seeks engaged and ambitious hospitality students to join our Hospitality/Food & Beverage Summer Internship program. This hands-on opportunity provides exposure to the core fundamentals of hospitality and Member services while rotating through a variety of club operations.

Job Summary:
To provide hands-on training and multi-departmental exposure within the Food & Beverage operation at Overlake Golf & Country Club. Interns will rotate through various hospitality roles, gaining real-world experience and building skills in Member services, event coordination, and food and beverage operations. Successful candidates are team-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about delivering exceptional experiences. 


 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Serve during a la carte lunch and dinner, Club events, and private events.
  • Rotate through key Food & Beverage roles (bartending, hosting, inventory management, snack bar services, reception, and kitchen operations).
  • Complete a rotation in one additional Club department (golf, racquets, swim, accounting, grounds & greens, or events).
  • Attend weekly intern meetings led by various Department Heads (8 sessions total).
  • Tour three private clubs in the Pacific Northwest with a co-intern and OGCC Management.
  • Create an end-of-summer presentation on key learnings and propose ideas for departmental innovation and improvement.
  • Participate in an exit interview conducted by the General Manager and complete an Internship Wrap-Up Questionnaire.

Requirements

 

Requirements: 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a hospitality program and have completed at least one year at an accredited university or learning institution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with Members and Staff.
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs during shifts.
