Internship (Human Resources)

Position Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY

The Human Resources Intern is responsible for administrative tasks in the Human Resources Department. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in healthcare HR functions including recruiting clinical staff, managing employee records, supporting compliance with healthcare regulations, and promoting staff wellness and engagement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruitment:
o Screen resumes to ensure that candidates meet the minimum qualifications
o Schedule initial virtual screenings between candidate and recruiter
o Create posts for social media
o Prepare requested reporting
o Attend Job Fairs
• Onboarding:
o Support the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and interns
o Schedule onboarding meetings between candidate and onboarding manager
o Prepare documents for scheduled onboarding meetings
o Scan and file onboarding documents
• HR Policies and Procedures
o Assist with employee inquiries by directing them to the Handbook, Onesite, or Shared Drive, whichever appropriate.
o Help maintain employee records and update HR databases
o  Conduct research on HR best practices and help develop HR policies and procedures
o Participate in special HR projects as assigned
o  Support daily HR operations and respond to routine HR inquiries
o Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
• Employee Engagement
o Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events
• HR Office Assistance
o Assist with walk-in traffic from employees, by taking messages or directing them to the correct HR Representative.
o Scan and file documentation as needed
o Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Required:
o Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
o  Strong verbal and written communication skills
o  Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
o Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced team environment
• Preferred:
o  Previous internship or experience in an office environment
o  Familiarity with HR software or applicant tracking systems (ATS)
o   Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
o Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare compliance basics
o Experience in a clinical, medical office, or healthcare administration environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This part-time 10–12-week role is on-site.
• Hours: 15-20/week flexible based on class schedule
• This role may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
