Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Intern

PolyGone is a Princeton-based environmental startup that is pioneering new biomimetic filtration technologies to remove aquatic microplastic pollutants from our waterways. Our mission is to deploy our technology as a new phase of drinking and wastewater treatment as a means to remove microplastics from our waterways for good.

Our team has developed the world's first affordable, portable, and environmentally friendly microplastic sequestration device designed to work in active rivers and lakes. We have received a few federal funding opportunities to support our full-scale pilot tests. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team and assist in our exciting pilot projects.

 

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Intern Description:

  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist in our 2 pilot test’s procurement and construction coordination
  • Attend meetings with collaborators and clients
  • Produce supporting engineering drawings
  • Communicate with fabricators for procurement and design details
  • Assist in the R&D of our proprietary material for the filter

 

  • Hard Requirements: 
  • Must commit at least 40 hours per week to this position during the summer
  • Must be able to access our lab located at Princeton Biolabs, NJ
  • Must be proficient in engineering modeling software

 

  • Ideal Candidate:
  • Have basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, any robotic or mechanical systems design experience is a bonus
  • Have prior work experience
