Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator l (Supervisor) of the Inventory Management Unit, the incumbent performs analytical functions for the Inventory Management Unit. Identifies inventory trends and makes projections using actual and historical data to determine appropriate levels of inventory on hand for projected production. Gathers, calculates and analyzes inventory data from CALPIA manufacturing enterprises in accordance with accounting principles to monitor inventory levels for appropriateness to production plan. Develops, updates, and reconciles inventory-related spreadsheets while ensuring accuracy; e.g., cost roll-ups, inventory level comparison reports, earned hours reports, standard cost greater than list price, etc.

  • Experience in cost accounting, inventory, GL
  • Customer service experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Experience in financial accounting or Government Accounting
  • Experience in reconciliation work
  • Experience in financial audit and/or year-end Accounting
  • Experience creating or working with financial queries and/or reports
  • Experience analyzing financial data
  • Accounting Certificate and/or College Degree w/Emphasis in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Math

Minimum Qualifications? Equivalent to graduation from college with a specialization in accounting OR completion of the equivalent of 45-semester units given by a collegiate-grade residence or correspondence institution, of which 24 units must include courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, first-semester intermediate accounting and advanced accounting (or second-semester intermediate accounting), fund/governmental accounting, cost accounting, auditing, business law, computer applications/management information systems.
