HR Analytics Intern

Job Purpose: 

MSC Cruises, the world's third largest cruise line brand, is hiring for an HR Analytics Intern. Reporting to the Director, HRBP, this intern will be the intersection of data, human resources, and the business and have visibility to executive leadership decision making. Our HR Analytics Intern will be responsible for analyzing HR data, creating and maintaining internal reporting and dashboards, and collaborating on cross-functional projects to bring data and insights to our business leaders. This is an exciting opportunity to bring HR data storytelling to life and make an impact on the business. 

 

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in the office, in Miami or Fort Lauderdale.   

 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting: Clean and analyze HR data related to recruitment, headcount, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, retention, and performance.  
  • Define and Measure HR KPIs: Assist in defining, analyzing, and tracking key HR performance indicators (KPIs); identify trends and provide recommendations to support HR strategies. 
  • Create HR Dashboards: Create business-facing dashboards that deliver impactful, relevant insights to leaders to help influence data-driven decision making 
  • Project Support: Collaborate on cross-functional projects relating to HR, analytics, diversity and inclusion, performance, talent management, and talent development 

 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Human Resources, People Analytics, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field 
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills 
  • Ability to identify and solve problems with minimal guidance 
  • Proficient in data visualization and data analytics tools and software (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI) 
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Project management capabilities 
  • Ability to communicate complex data and insights clearly and effectively to a non-technical audience 
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to build strong working relationships across diverse teams  
  • Ability to think independently and navigate initiatives where established processes may not exist 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in creating executive-friendly reports and visualizations using tools like Excel, or other more advanced analytical tools 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in Human Resources and/or People Analytics 
  • Experience working across global teams 
  • Experience in the cruise industry or travel industry
