Student Assistant Internship (Enterprise Network Services), Ref# 8925

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.

 

Duties Description

Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 2, SG-18, within the Chief Technology Office/Enterprise Network Services/Voice Operations group, the Student Assistant Intern will be responsible for advanced analysis, engineering, implementation, and support of technologies within the UniteNY IP telephony and virtual meetings applications environment. The UniteNY environment now supports statewide customers, two geographically separated data centers, a highly complex core infrastructure, and an enterprise video solution.

 

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 
• Perform provisioning (Move, Add, Change, Delete – MACD) and incident support (e.g., troubleshooting, resolution, etc.) for ITS telephony, video conferencing, and online meetings environments. 
• Triage ITSM Incident Management queues to ensure incidents and service requests are handled in a timely fashion. 
• Coordinate with system vendors and carriers for MACD support and trouble ticket break/fix work. 
• Work with ITS project teams to ensure timely, complete, and appropriate delivery of services to ITS clients. 
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including detailed written technical procedures and reports.
