Position summary:
We are seeking a student or recent graduate who is eager to learn, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. You will support and assist with projects in our Human Resources Department. These projects are designed to enhance your communication and teamwork skills, as you will be collaborating with individuals across all functions in our organization. You will work alongside professionals in your field, gaining in-depth knowledge about the energy industry and your chosen field of expertise. You will apply what you have learned in school to impactful projects within a publicly traded, multi-state utility and energy company. Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Reporting Relationship: HR Supervisor
Location: Our corporate headquarters in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Relocation Assistance: Relocation allowance of $1,000 provided to assist with moving.
Essential Functions:
- Perform a wide range of Human Resources related tasks across the Talent Acquisition and Organizational Development functions of the department.
- Assist with Organizational Development related tasks such as employee engagement activities, scheduling department programs, data analytics, focus groups, employee communications, support facilitation, etc.
- Assist with recruitment related tasks such as screening resumes, scheduling interviews, verifying education for background checks, sourcing candidates, posting jobs, reviewing job descriptions, etc.
- Enter information into Human Resources data systems.
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team.
- Prepare and present a synopsis of experience with the Company at the end of the internship to leadership.
- Assist in planning logistics and execution of engagement programs and activities.
- Performs other human resources related duties, as needed.
- Lead special projects as requested.

What Is Required:
- Must be actively enrolled in an educational program related to Human Resources or a related field and have completed a minimum of 2 years towards a respective degree. If you are a recent graduate, you must be within 1 year of your graduation date.
- No experience required. Training provided.
What Is Desired:
- Basic knowledge of human resources and related employment laws and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of organization development principles and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and give presentations.
- Excellent attention to detail required.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of business, employee and applicant information.
