Human Resources Intern

Pilz Automation Safety L.P. is technology leader in safe automation technology. In this area, Pilz is consistently developing a role as a total solutions supplier with solutions for safety and automation technology.   The objective of Pilz is to automate machines and plants in such a way that the safety of man, machine and environment is always guaranteed.  In addition to the head office in Ostfildern near Stuttgart, Germany, Pilz is represented by 42 subsidiaries and branches on all continents.

Pilz is currently seeking a Human Resources intern based in our Canton, MI office for summer 2025.

This role offers hands-on experience in all areas of HR including HR operations, talent acquisition, employee development, culture and satisfaction initiatives, benefit planning, and much more.

The Human Resources (HR) Intern will report to the Human Resources Manager working on a variety of HR projects and interacting closely with employees across the US organization.

This is a temporary position (summer 2025) typically requiring 40 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Create action plans based on completed employee engagement surveys; make recommendations for future surveys

- Develop and coordinate employee engagement activities and wellness initiatives

- Assist with the creation and refinement of HR documents such as handbooks, job descriptions, and policies

- Conduct research on HR topics/trends to develop knowledge resources and recommend process improvements

- Create documentation around standard operating procedures and processes

- Assist with organizing internal systems and managing employee files

- Evaluate business systems and provide recommendations

- Other duties as assigned

 
Minimum Qualifications: 
- Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Human Resources, or similar, with Sophomore standing or higher

- Able to maintain confidential information

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others effectively

- Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills

- Proficient with MS Office 
- Willingness to learn Pilz products and procedures
- Self-motivated, well-organized and team oriented
