Education Internship Position

STREAM Innovations is seeking a motivated and passionate Education Intern to join our team. The Education Intern will assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and activities aimed at supporting our organization's mission to provide quality education to Innovators. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in education program support.


 

Position Title: Education Intern

 

Location: 

Office: (1224 20th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205);

School: (Glen Oaks Intermediate-1301 Highland Dr. Fairfield, AL 35064)

 

Duration: 10 hours weekly April 11th, 2025-May 16th 2025;

 

Compensation: $15 per hour

 

Team Leader: Dr. Adrienne Starks, Ph.D


 

Position Overview:

As an Education Intern at STREAM Innovations, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside our team to support the development and execution of educational programs, resources, and initiatives. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in curriculum design, program implementation, and educational content creation, while working on projects that help shape the future of education.

Four (4) hours will be dedicated to programming at Glen Oaks each Friday during the dates of April 11th-May 16th, 2025. The additional six (6) hours will be available to be obtained onsite at the STREAM Innovations office, Monday -Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Support: Assist in designing and refining educational content, lesson plans, and resources for different age groups and educational levels.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and execution of educational programs and workshops.
  • Research: Conduct research on educational trends, emerging technologies in education, and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Content Creation: Help create engaging educational materials, including digital content, presentations, handouts, and instructional videos.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Assist in the collection and analysis of feedback from educators, students, and parents to improve the effectiveness of educational programs.
  • Event Assistance: Help organize and support educational events, webinars, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including data entry and organizing educational resources.

Qualifications:

  • Currently Enrolled in a Relevant Program: Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Education, Educational Technology, or STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math) related field.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear and engaging educational content.
  • Passion for Education: A deep interest in education, curriculum development, and fostering innovative learning experiences.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively, while paying close attention to detail.
  • Collaborative: Ability to work well within a team and contribute ideas to enhance educational programs.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems (LMS), and basic software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Creative Problem Solving: Ability to think creatively and approach challenges with innovative solutions in an educational context.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • Bi-lingual
  • Prior experience working in education or with educational programs.
  • Experience with digital content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software).
  • Knowledge of current trends in education such as project-based learning (PBL), STEM/STREAM initiatives, and gamification.
  • Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and online education tools.
