Our team of eight works across New York City, Austin, and London, and we are on a mission to become the trusted platform for student and intern subleasing and mid-term furnished rentals. 

About the Role
We are currently redesigning our core product: the HousingPanda Subleasing Marketplace. We’re seeking a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer Intern to help us create a beautiful, intuitive, and high-performing platform. This role is perfect for someone who loves marketplace design and wants to see their work implemented in a live product used by students across the country.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute UX and UI redesign of key product flows, including homepage, search, listing, and messaging
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
• Translate findings into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes
• Create and maintain a scalable design system for consistent UI patterns
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to implement your designs
• Ensure designs are responsive and accessible across web and mobile
• Iterate quickly based on feedback, analytics, and usability data

Technical Qualifications

• Proficiency in Figma (preferred), Adobe XD, or Sketch
• Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture
• Experience designing responsive web applications with real user flows
• Basic knowledge of AI prompting as well as front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and React (you don’t need to code, but you should understand the language)
• Experience working with developers to ensure design feasibility and accuracy in implementation 
• Familiarity with prototyping and animation tools like Framer, Principle, or Lottie is a plus
• Prior experience in marketplace, e-commerce, or listing-based product design is strongly preferred
