Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, hungry, and experienced technical product leader to join our fast-paced startup team. As a product leader at WSWS, you will play a critical role in leading and driving the development of our app and platform in conjunction with our development partner, ensuring it meets both technical excellence and business objectives. This position is ideal for someone who is not only a tech-savvy leader but also passionate about the music/entertainment/songwriting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and oversee the technical development of our app, platform, and websites in collaboration with our external development partner, enforcing best practices, and ensuring the highest code quality, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business goals.
    • Familiarity and keeping up to date with current and new AI platforms (i.e. - co-pilot).  Demonstrating the ability to leverage AI technologies for both front and back-end development to enhance the app's capabilities, user experience, and potential streamlining opportunities internally for the business.
  • Product Ownership: Take ownership of the product roadmap, prioritize features, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design and marketing, to deliver a compelling user experience.
  • Project Management: Drive project execution, set project timelines, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Utilize agile methodologies to manage the development process effectively.
  • Hustle and Drive: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency to meet project goals. Be adaptable and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the mobile app space, with a particular focus on [music/entertainment/songwriting] industry trends.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the development team. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical development with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Tech Management, Product Management, Project Management, and Operations or other related fields.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams or projects.
  • Strong technical background encompassing a comprehensive understanding and application of various coding languages. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in React Native for frontend development and Elixir for backend, along with a profound knowledge of best practices in these languages.
  • Experience in UI/UX design with an understanding of best practices to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a track record of successful UI/UX design projects.
  • Knowledge of current design trends and a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and design methodologies.
  • Interest for the music industry and a solid understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this industry.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Knowledge of the app/mobile space and a track record of successful product launches is a plus.
