Merchandise Sales Consultant -
Location: Haleyville, AL
Work Hours: 8:30am – 5pm, M-F
Role Length: est. 1 yr, 4/14/25 – 4/17/26
Salary: $22 per hr
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
This position will be located in Alabama Power’s Appliance Center Haleyville office with 2 days in the Winfield office. The candidate will provide knowledgeable assistance to customers to sell appliances, electronics and product protection plans. Candidates will have -
- Demonstrated sales success (Can be sales experience in other type sales areas)
- Good communications skills; ability to speak Spanish highly desirable
- Demonstrated creativity in merchandising and sales prospecting
- Team Player mentality
- Ability to work with all employees including those in other departments to ensure customer satisfaction with products/services
- Ability to sell major appliances, electronics, furniture and home goods
- Ability to complete sales, financing and inventory control processes and paperwork
- Ability to maintain inventory to ensure accuracy
- Ability to arrange for timely delivery to customers
- Ability to maintain creative and attractive display areas/sales floor to enhance sales potential
- Ability to assist with loading/unloading appliances
- Ability to coordinate all aspects of special sale events
- Ability to create and execute new sales initiatives to attract additional customers
- Knowledge of computer systems such as MS Word and CSS desirable
