Area Sales Manager - Travel Retail & Caribbean

RISE Brand Partners is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to manage the company’s fragrance and cosmetics portfolio in Caribbean & Travel Retail markets.  As Area Sales Manager, you will report directly to the co-. founder of RISE and will work closely with retailers and brand partners alike. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to join a rising company, in a fast-paced environment, while having the opportunity to influence & shape the company’s beauty business.

Job Responsibilities

1.         Achieve SALES and plan INVESTMENTS

  • Achieve sales, market share and profitability targets
  • Define commercial strategy for each market in line with budget 
  • Manage regional A&P spend for the beauty portfolio in the region
  • Continuously look for, and assess, new business opportunities within the region (new brands listing, new retailers, distribution expansion)

 

2.         KEY ACCOUNT management

  • Establish and develop strong working relationship with all retailers and distributors in the market
  • Drive commercial negotiations to maximize all aspects of the business (in-shop spaces & locations, prices, investments, promotions…)
  • Forecasting responsibilities on saleable and non-saleable goods (POS material, GWP, etc…) to optimize costs and avoid obsolescence
  • Ensure day-to-day management working with warehouse and logistics teams 
  • Travel to markets to meet with retailer & distributor partners, assess in-market opportunities and ensure execution Is on par with guidelines
  • Produce monthly brand reporting (data analysis and retail execution)  and lead quarterly business reviews

 

3.         Implementation of the MARKETING Guidelines   

  • Define, negotiate and implement marketing, launch and promotional plans
  • Ensure that merchandising, build outs and visual implementation is in line with corporate and brand guidelines
  • Market Intelligence: gather market information related to the industry (market size, distribution, pricing, launch results, ranking)

 

4.         MERCHANDISING

  • Continuously seek new opportunities in space and location to enhance brand image and visibility
  • Negotiate and implement relevant brand representation in all doors, according to guidelines defined with brand partners (e.g. personalized Brand fixtures)

 

Challenges

  • Build account relationships at corporate and store level
  • Able to work independently & follow through with practical, actionable application
  • Implement a variety of brand strategies, in a variety of categories (fragrances, skincare, haircare…)
  • Working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excel in a fast-paced setting
  • Able to manage a field sales team (direct and/or indirect reporting line): beauty advisor and retail specialists
  • Travel up to 50% of the time

Job Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Excellent in planning
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent in office applications (Excel/Word)
  • Language: Fluent English, French and/or Spanish are a plus
  • University Graduate, Economy or business related. 
  • Min. 3 to 5 years’ experience in sales. International exposure
  • Industry knowledge & Travel Retail experience a plus, but not essential
