Marketing & Business Development Intern

PerSoN.Clinic is an award-winning, bootstrapped digital health startup revolutionizing healthcare through virtual care solutions. Our platform, PerSoN Care, empowers patients with mental health and chronic condition management, transforming the healthcare system into a patient-first model.

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive intern to support marketing, business development, government sales, and lead generation activities. This is an on-site position in Maryland, available as part-time or full-time, with potential for stock options and bonuses for high performers.

DMV area-based candidates. Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a big plus!

About the Role

As a Marketing & Business Development Intern, you will work on-site to assist in government marketing, lead generation, sales outreach, and partnership development. This role is perfect for an ambitious, detail-oriented, and persuasive communicator who enjoys sales pitching, cold calling, and following up on leads to close deals.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience at an early-stage health tech startup, where you will contribute to growth strategies, marketing execution, and business expansion.

What You’ll Do

Government Marketing & Sales Outreach

  • Research and identify government contracts, grants, and partnership opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing government sales pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, healthcare organizations, and procurement officers.
  • Track and follow up on government contract leads and bidding processes.

Cold Calling, Lead Generation & Sales Pitching

  • Conduct outbound cold calls and follow-ups to potential leads, businesses, and strategic partners.
  • Qualify leads and set up meetings with decision-makers.
  • Deliver engaging sales pitches to convert prospects into customers or partners.
  • Develop and refine sales scripts and outreach strategies.
  • Track and report lead generation performance and conversion rates.

Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive market and competition analysis.
  • Identify, develop, and close potential business relationships.
  • Locate potential business partners and strategic collaborations.
  • Analyze risks, potentials, and growth opportunities for business partnerships.
  • Track and report accomplishments weekly without being asked.

Marketing & Brand Awareness

  • Develop and manage a content & editorial calendar (blog posts, whitepapers, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.).
  • Create engaging social media content and manage profiles (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram).
  • Track and analyze social media campaigns, engagement, and conversions.
  • Assist in writing, building, and sending newsletters, promotional content, and company updates.
  • Research and identify new social media engagement opportunities.

Community Engagement & Customer Support

  • Respond to member inquiries via email and contact forms.
  • Cultivate and grow meaningful relationships within the PerSoN community.
  • Research and manage new resources and programs for patients & caregivers.
  • Assist in enhancing processes, communication, and outreach programs.

Marketing Automation & Analytics

  • Set up and manage marketing automation tools to optimize lead generation.
  • Monitor and report on social media and marketing ROI.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of outreach, engagement, and marketing strategies.

Who You Are

MBA student preferred, focusing on Marketing, Business Development, Digital Health, Public Health, or Government Contracting
A self-starter – You take initiative, work independently, and enjoy problem-solving.
Sales-driven & persuasive – You are confident in cold calling, pitching, and closing deals.
Highly organized & detail-oriented – You track your work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
An excellent communicator – Strong written & verbal skills for proposals, sales pitches, and marketing content.
A data-driven marketer – You analyze performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies for better results.
Flexible & adaptable – You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are eager to take on challenges.

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But a Plus!)

  • Experience in government contracting, B2B sales, or digital health marketing
  • Spanish language proficiency (reading/writing)
  • Familiarity with marketing tools (SEO, Google Analytics, CRM, email automation, social media schedulers
  • Cold-calling or sales experience in healthcare, tech, or B2B industries

Compensation & Growth Opportunity
