Stewardship Manager

(Chicago/Hybrid) The Stewardship Manager will serve as a strategic and key member of the philanthropy team with the creation and implementation of strategic written communications for the acknowledgement and recognition of high-level donors and prospects working directly with the Vice President of Philanthropy along with the Major Gifts and Planned Giving teams. The Stewardship Specialist will report to the Vice President of Philanthropy and work collaboratively with the Director of Transformational Giving and Director of Planned Giving. This position is based in our downtown Chicago headquarters.
We are seeking an individual with Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Communications, Writing, or Liberal Arts. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in writing is required. Demonstrated writing in donor-centric materials used for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship is preferred.
Essential responsibilities include:
Donor Engagement:
- Build written communication strategies to ensure continued and increased philanthropic support from high-level donors and prospects that both support the objectives of the Fellowship and satisfy the aspirations of the donors.
- Create and deliver appropriate certificates, videos and other key recognition items in collaboration with gift officers.
- Work collaboratively with other Fellowship departments in arranging and managing high-touch Donor and Talent events in conjunction with Executive and Senior Leadership
Philanthropic Writing:
- Assist the Vice President and Directors in preparation of monthly letters for high-gift donors by developing and fine-tuning monthly and quarterly updates, proposals and other cultivation and stewardship pieces.
Project Management:
- Manage the implementation of all mobile marketing and fundraising campaigns utilizing proven project management processes to ensure all strategies and tactics are implemented on time and on budget.
Marketing Strategy Development and Partnerships:
- Work with Director of Gift Planning to formulate marketing strategy and map out process to implement strategy. Create a content calendar and scheduling deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams from Editorial, Brand Marketing and Graphic Design.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors.
Reporting and Standard Operation Procedures:
- Prepare timetables and setback schedules for reports and stewardship communications.
- Develop, maintain and follow The Fellowship’s standard operating procedures.
Technical & Individual Skills:
- Excellent Communication skills; written and verbal
- Proficiency in Project Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, power point, excel)
- Demonstrated written and grammatical skills for high-level communications
- Demonstrated success in Donor Services programs
- Demonstrated knowledge in implementation and execution of donor relation activities
- Donor-centered customer service and savvy to speak with high-level donors and prospects
- Strong Collaborative and team building skills
- Knowledge of Christian and Jewish faiths
