Intern Job Description
The Utah Valley Convention Center, located in downtown Provo, is seeking an outstanding, dynamic intern who is eager to learn all aspects of the convention center business. This intern will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments, including Sales & Marketing, Event Management, Operations, Building Services, AV, Engineering, Security, Finance, and Food & Beverage, to gain a comprehensive overview of the convention center's daily operations.
The intern will be expected to work 20-35 hours per week, depending on event schedules, and should have a flexible schedule.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Meet with each department manager, four directors, and the general manager to gain valuable insights into their areas of expertise.
- Complete an onboarding workbook designed to provide an overview of all departments.
- Work shifts in various departments to gain hands-on experience.
- Learn to create event resumes and floor plans using CAD and Momentus Technologies software.
- Complete department-specific projects as directed by the supervisor.
Intern Requirements:
- A Hospitality or Experience Design Management student, preferably in their junior or senior year.
- Eager to learn and collaborate with all departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible schedule (20-35 hours per week).
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
