Copywriter
Woodside Bible Church is looking for a talented Copywriter to craft and edit compelling, on-brand content that engages and informs our church community. This role plays a key part in ensuring our messaging aligns with our mission, values, and voice across 14 campuses and multiple ministries.
About the Role
As a Copywriter, you’ll develop and refine written materials for emails, ministry resources, events, retreats, and church-wide initiatives. You’ll collaborate closely with the Communications team and ministry leaders to create clear, engaging, and mission-driven content.
Key Responsibilities
Campus & Ministry Communications
- Write and edit weekly all-campus emails to ensure clarity, engagement, and alignment with church messaging.
- Provide weekly updates to the Executive team on communication plans.
- Edit and proofread Kids' Ministry resources for events like Easter, Advent, Flip Camp, and Camp Woodside.
- Create compelling copy for Student Ministry retreats, conferences, and short-term mission trips.
- Develop scripts for Sunday morning host segments, as needed.
- Handle campus-specific copy requests in collaboration with staff.
Editorial & Content Support
- Assist with editorial projects, ensuring content is on-brand, error-free, and strategically aligned with ministry goals.
- Proofread materials for grammar, punctuation, and consistency before publication.
- Work with ministry teams to craft effective messaging for various church initiatives.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Partner with ministry teams to ensure all communications reflect Woodside’s values and mission.
- Provide additional editorial support as needed for internal communications.
Creative Contribution
- Present creative concepts and copy drafts for feedback and refinement.
- Brainstorm new ways to communicate key messages and church initiatives effectively.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style.
- Experience in content creation, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for clear, engaging communication.
- Familiarity with church culture and ministry communications is a plus.
Additional Information
As a direct ministry role, all Woodside staff members are expected to be members of Woodside Bible Church. Because the Communications team serves all campuses, this individual may attend any Woodside location.
