JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing accounting and analytical support to the Accounting/Finance department. Prepare monthly general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to Management during the month end close process.
  • Prepare BS account reconciliations such as prepaid, accruals, cash, A/R, unearned revenue and other liabilities/assets.
  • Arrange schedules and analysis in support of monthly, quarterly reviews and annual audits as well as credit card/daily cash transactions.
  • Support management by gaining a full understanding of the transactions processed in reservations/onboard revenue systems.
  • Investigate and research discrepancies in the reservations/onboard revenue systems.
  • Support management with special projects such as reservations/onboard revenue systems testing and process improvement.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Accounting

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting, preferred but not required.
  • Combined experience in public accounting and the private sector a plus.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Must have strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be PC literate and proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Essbase and MS Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft software or large company ERP systems a plus.
  • Organizational skills are necessary due to the nature of compiling and retaining detailed information for audits.
  • Ability to work extra hours during month end close and as needed.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • CPA or progress towards CPA preferred.
