Job description

Position Title: UC Art Studio Assistant

Summary: The Department of Art & Design is seeking to hire a student worker for the UC Art Studio areas including the wood shop, sculpture, metalsmithing, and printmaking.

Required Qualifications: Must be a current student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Valdosta State University. Must be able to lift 50 lb. boxes and bags of materials, clean and maintain the studio environment regularly, and be comfortable training to work with power and manual machinery.

Duties & Responsibilities: This job will consist of general cleaning and organizational duties within the UC art studios, supervised small construction and projects with guidance from the Wood Shop Coordinator, and studio maintenance duties as assigned. Student will need to be able to lift heavy materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. The student worker will need to complete studio safety training before beginning work.

  • 19 hours per week
