Grant Writer Intern
Position Overview:
Ellevate Her (https://ellevateher.org/) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer Intern to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The position will be Part-Time, (10 to 15 hours per week), hybrid (In person and remote) and chosen candidate will be offered $15.00 per hour.
The position start date is scheduled for July 2025.
Internship title dependent on role which bests suites the candidate's skills and interest, combining research, writing, fundraising and program support, such as:
Grant Writing Intern, Development Intern, Fundraising Intern, Grants and Development Intern, Noin-Profit Writing Intern, Research and Grants Intern, Foundation Relations Intern, Grants Administration Intern, Development and Communication Intern, Proposal Writing Intern.
The Intern Grant Writer will play a critical role in securing funding to support our mission by researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funding organizations.
This position requires a strong ability to communicate the impact of our programs and align them with funders’ priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grant Research and Identification:
• Research prospective funding opportunities, including foundations, corporations, and government grants.
• Identify grants that align with Ellevate Her’s mission and programs.
2. Proposal Development:
• Write compelling and tailored grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather data and program details for proposals.
• Ensure that proposals are aligned with funders’ requirements and guidelines.
3. Grant Management:
• Manage a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications and reports.
• Track submitted proposals and follow up with funders as needed.
• Work with the finance team to align budgets with grant applications.
4. Relationship Building:
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders.
• Represent Ellevate Her in meetings or calls with potential funders.
5. Grant Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare grant reports and ensure compliance with funders’ requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all grant activity in the organization’s database.
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student or student who has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Grant Writing, Social Work, Humanities, Sociology, Communications, English, Non-Profit Management).
• Proven experience in administrative duties, grant writing, fundraising, or non-profit development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell a compelling story.
• Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, and with a team, to manage multiple deadlines.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care or holistic wellness is a plus.
