IT Project Management - Senior
Seattle Colleges is looking to hire an IT Project Manager - Senior level in the IT unit.
Salary Range for this position is $99,252 to $130,272 annually.

Position Summary
The Seattle Colleges Information Technology unit's responsible for the development, acquisition, and support of information technology systems and infrastructure, both instructional and administrative, to support all Seattle College students, faculty and staff. The Project Manager, Senior position reports to the Chief Information Officer/Associate Vice Chancellor and serves as the lead for district-wide project management work.
This position includes no direct supervision but may direct or lead the work of others.
The Project Manager, Senior position has primary responsibility for leading project facilitation, formulating and defining project objectives, scope, implementation plan schedule, and for preparing functional, system and program specifications. This includes creating project estimates, plans, reporting, resource capacity planning, the development of roadmaps, and release plans for technology projects. Coordinates releases and sprints across different technology work streams and identifies potential technology gaps or collisions. Provide project management services such as: status, projection, leading meetings, driving projects and tasks to completion, and accepting responsibility for project teams¿ performance. Determines the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of the project's objectives and constraints. This position acts as a liaison among IT department staff, subject matter experts and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, prioritize, clarify, validate and document requirements for project work.
This position is FULL time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8am to 5pm (specific hours to be determined with supervisor).
This position can work a hybrid schedule of both remote and on-site work, as determined with supervisor (or can be 100% on-site if desired).
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What you will be working on:
- Coordinates and leads multiple projects that support systems used by all departments in Seattle Colleges.
- Identifies and monitors risks (threats and opportunities), plans, and implements responses to risks and responds to other issues affecting projects.
- Responsible for managing change and quality management processes throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Identify potential risks and obstacles which may hinder successful completion of deliverables and achievement of project milestones and goals.
- Support and may lead the development and distribution of standardized project management tools, templates, best practices, and processes.
- Develop high level business requirements to determine project intake documentation and estimates to reach project goals.
- Plan, organize, coordinate and conduct user system testing and data validation.
- Consolidates and documents the fundamental components, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements of projects.
- Integrates project outputs into business operations, addresses readiness of users, compatibility of work systems and the realization of benefits.
- Prepares, gains approval of, refines and updates business cases that justify the initiation and/or continuation of projects in terms of benefits, costs, and risks.
- Gathers independent evidence and validates projects are achieving their aims.
- Develops, implements, and updates resource allocation plans for projects
- Prepares and maintains schedules for activities and events for related projects, considering dependencies and resource requirements to avoid bottlenecks and conflicting demands and determines sequences of outcomes to enable efficient realization of benefits.
- Leads well-articulated and informed meetings through professional communication that engages meaningful discussions to manage technology service delivery while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Help foster a collaborative partnership among all stakeholders to enable successful implementation of projects, new processes, and project pipeline planning decisions.
- Manages stakeholders, considering their levels of influence and particular interests.
- Ensures there is ongoing common understanding of the purpose of the project and holistic view of the project objectives by all the stakeholders.
- Provides ongoing communications regarding risks, issues, changes, progress and status to stakeholders.
- Reports directly to Chief Information Officer on project deliverables, resources, budget, and overall performance.
- Manages the tracking and resolution of impediments, develops the key metrics required to monitor implementation success and triages issues in team velocity. Work with business and product owners to reprioritize backlog work items, and adjustments in scope, schedule and budgets.
- Works with project stakeholders to define business deliverables, building project work plans, working with project team to estimate level of effort for project activities, preparing detailed project schedules, keeping work plans up to date, making adjustments to plans where needed, and reporting status to project stakeholders on a frequent basis.
- Establishes and maintains structures that define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with organization practice.
- Develops, manages, and updates status reports and other communications.

Required Education, Experience or Certifications
- Associate's degree in relevant field. OR four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing increasingly complex projects in higher education or true non-profit organization
- Project Management earned certificate from a industry-recognized organization
- 2 or more years of successfully project managing a range of information technology projects with increasing complexity
- Demonstrated ability to identify, address and resolve differences between individuals and/or interest groups.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts and practices in the assigned area(s) gained through extensive experience and skill in applying this knowledge to complex work assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to independently work on all levels of an assignment and provide guidance to lower level staff on complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks and improve processes using advanced knowledge and skill, including developing new processes and working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience in effective use of technology such as Microsoft Office and Project Management specific tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectively with people from diverse educational, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds; ability to translate complex nuances to others.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization.
