Intern - Historical Research and Writing
We are hiring several interns for the winter and spring to help us build Fourscore (4score.org), our new system for teaching American history. Interns will help locate important original historical documents and artifacts that can be used to teach history and upload them to Fourscore. These include speeches, court decisions, legislation, letters, articles, maps, political cartoons, paintings, etc. The interns will also write brief descriptions about the items they upload and categorize them.
Interns should be currently attending (or recently graduated from) college and have some background in American history, preferably at least completed AP US History.
Fourscore is being developed by the National Historical Society, which publishes American Heritage, the leading magazine of American history for 75 years.
This internship would be largely remote, but we hope to hold occasional meetings of the team at our office in the American News Women’s Club, two blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro in Washington, DC.
