Membership and Grassroots Interns
The membership and grassroots intern will spearhead efforts to attract new members.
solicit member feedback and promote membership engagement. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently from a remote location and have a personal commitment to promote disability rights and social justice.
Interns will perform complex substantive tasks that in most organizations would typically be done by paid staff.
Interns must be ready to take on this responsibility and learn unfamiliar systems, processes, and platforms.
Duties:
- Conduct outreach to potential members.
- Send targeted communications using Constant Contact and LinkedIn.
- Develop a database of local partners such as college student groups.
- Negotiate with businesses to obtain member rewards and discounts.
- Gauge member viewpoints through SurveyMonkey and other platforms.
- Identify opportunities to market to members, such as conventions, speaking engagements, and community fairs.
- Create and coordinate groups using meetup.com.
Requirements:
- Be a self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced virtual organization.

- Be teachable and eager to learn.
Interns will receive one-on-one guidance, connection with like-minded women, and opportunities for growth through weekly staff meetings and daily email updates. We assist students in receiving academic credit and complete paperwork required by universities.
At the conclusion of the internship, interns will have a portfolio of projects, writing samples, and references for future employers.
