LBSW or LLBSW Clinician
Seeking LBSW or LLBSW for a position with the Genesee Mobile Crisis Services (GMCS) team! This program operates 24/7, 365 to provide mobile crisis support services in Genesee county.
Current Openings:
- Contingent, various days based on agency needs - shifts: 7a - 5p, 1p - 11p, 10p - 8a
- Full-time (40 hr/wk, Sunday - Wednesday, 1p - 11p)
Base pay: Limited License: $25 - $27, Full License: $28 - $29, plus shift differential.
About You
The Crisis Interventionist II (CI II) will be an integral member of the crisis response team, providing immediate and on-site support to individuals experiencing mental health crises and emotional distress. The primary role of the CI II will be to assist people/families in accessing community or CMH resources and services, de-escalate crisis situations, and provide appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. The CI II will collaborate closely with the GMCS team as well as law enforcement, emergency services, and other mental health professionals to deliver prompt and effective crisis intervention services. - Along with the CI III, briefly assess crisis situation and person/family’s needs
- Actively engage person/family experiencing a crisis in order to avoid negative outcomes
- Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting with emergent or urgent need
- Collaborate with local mental health agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, and other community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up care
- Coordinate with emergency services and transport individuals to appropriate facilities when necessary for further evaluation and treatment
- Provide referrals, arrange for psychiatric evaluations, facilitate authorization for hospitalization if unable to successfully divert, and inter- and intra-agency services
- Facilitate transition to appropriate aftercare services and assist with implementation of individual recovery plans and coordination of natural supports
- Act as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person/family including with service providers and community agents
- Provide first aid and emergency procedures as needed
What You Need To Apply
- Bachelor's degree in human service field
- Professional licensure in the State of Michigan
- All Limited License Bachelor Social Workers (LLBSW) must receive their permanent license (LBSW) within 5 years from the issue date of the original limited/temporary license as published in the State of Michigan LARA system in order to continue their employment
- Certification in/or willing to obtain a development plan with MCBAP for the following (within 30 days of hire):
- CADC - Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities
- Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services
- Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children
- Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis assessment, and intervention techniques
- Preferred:
- Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan
- Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) OR Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) defined by the State of Michigan
